Leon Edwards extended his win streak by (18-3) at UFC Fight Night

The UFC welterweight, Leon Edwards has had a very tough time getting top fighters in his division, to fight with him. After this weekend, they might not have a choice in the matter.

Leon Edwards extended his win streak by (18-3) to eight Saturday night, as he successfully defeated the former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos by unanimous decision (29-12). 170 pound bout headlined the UFC Fight Night, at the San Antonio’s AT&T Center.

That was an impressive showing by English welterweight, who looks stubborn and has not lost a fight since the December 2015 to current UFC champion Kamaru Usman. All the three judges also scored it a blowout victory, for the Leon Edwards, by awarding the official scores of 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46.

Edwards also called for a fight against the ranked contender Jorge Masvidal, immediately after the win, with whom during the fight he got into a brief, backstage altercation, at a UFC event in London in March.

“I’m on an eight-fight win streak, in one of the hardest divisions in the sport,” Edwards said. “There’s a little weasel called Jorge Masvidal. Accept the fight. Let’s do it. You’re not on my level. Let’s make the fight happen.”
