Apple announced that it is awarding $10 million to COPAN Diagnostics from its Advanced Manufacturing Fund. It is a market leader in sample collection kits, and in today’s scenarios that play a critical role in COVID-19 testing.
The funding of $10 million by Apple now will allow the COPAN Diagnostics to rapidly accelerate its operations to increase the supply of sample collection kits for the hospitals across the United States, that is expanding production from several thousand today to more than one million kits per week by early July.
In Southern California, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will support COPAN Diagnostics to expand to a new, larger facility in with advanced equipment that Apple is helping design. This will also create more than 50 new jobs.
